SPORTS & NATURE

HERITAGE & HISTORY

Ribérac is located in the Dronne Valley , a river considered one of the most beautiful in France and where many sporting and relaxation activities are possible. This is how you can go for a trip on the Dronne in a canoe , or explore its surroundings by bike or on foot ( link1 and link2 ).

The Dronne and the numerous ponds of Ribéracois are also the ideal playground for all fishermen ! Trout, pike, roach and zander are waiting for you! Take advantage of the proximity of the cottages in the countryside "La Petite Clavelie" to indulge in your passion for fishing ( link1 , link2 and link3 ).

If you are more into hiking , on foot or by bike, with your shoes and pedals dry, many hiking trails are possible from Ribérac, or even from our gîtes ( link1 , link2 and link3 ).

Do you want to gain height? Tree climbing and climbing in natural sites are possible nearby, to enjoy the fresh Périgord air in complete safety! ( link1 and link2 )

After all these thrills, to enjoy a moment of relaxation, what could be better than having a good time at Lake Jemaye , which offers, in addition to supervised swimming, large play and leisure areas for everyone . Located just 15 minutes from the “La Petite Clavelie” country cottages, this natural site designed for everyone will delight young and old. ( link )

For those who would like to take to the open sea and breathe the salty air of the Ocean, the spacious beaches of Royan are 1.5 hours from the lodges... A day at the Atlantic is therefore also possible!

And for those who simply want to stroll through gardens with romantic charm and get lost in the maze of rural circuits, a visit to the Jardins du Coq in Montignac will naturally seduce you. ( link )

The Dordogne offers a wide range of picturesque villages and small towns, including remarkable castles, abbeys and churches, or, more extraordinary, chasms or prehistoric caves.

The Périgord Vert is no exception to the rule. The Route of the Romanesque churches of Ribéracois bears witness to this cultural and historical heritage of character ( link )

Indeed, just a few kilometers from the “La Petite Clavelie” country cottages, you can discover sites of rare and enchanting beauty.

This is how you can visit:

  • the villages of Aubeterre sur Dronne and Saint-Jean-de-Côle , classified among the most beautiful detours in France ( link1 and link2 )

  • Brantôme , also called “the Venice of Périgord”, and its majestic abbey, which hides, in its depths, numerous gardens but above all the troglodyte abbey of its origins ( link )

  • Bourdeilles and its medieval castle ( link )

  • the Château de la Mercerie , from the Renaissance period, and its rose garden, in Magnac Lavalette Villars ( link )

If you prefer the excitement of slightly larger cities, the towns of Périgueux, Bergerac and Sarlat also await you.

Finally, for young and old alike, keen on Human History, the caves of Villars and Beaussac , less known and therefore less popular than their big cousin of Lascaux, will delight the most curious among you ( link1 and link2 )

And, finally, if you like gigantic underground vaults formed by time and the slow and continuous infiltration of water, don't miss the Gouffre de Proumeyssac , 1 hour's drive from the property... its extraordinary spectacle, put into perspective by a play of sound and light, will amaze you ( link )
